Early Onset Dementia

Stepping Out provide specialist Dementia care, accommodation & support services for those with Dementia and early on-set dementia. This is provided via domiciliary care or via our own 24 hour staffed semi independent living projects. The projects are small and homely in order to maximise supervision and support whilst ensuring the service is entirely personalised.

We specialise in managing cases of memory loss & challenging behaviour. Our staff are trained and experienced in overcoming communication barriers and behavioural issues, which are often overlooked by most Dementia care services. Stepping Out are determined to go the extra mile and provide Dementia care and support of the highest quality.

Our person centred care plans ensure every need is catered for. This may span from low levels of support within the unit, right up to 24-hour one-to-one support if necessary.

What We Provide

General Assistance:
Support with money management, food management, health/hygiene, administering and monitoring prescribed medication as well as utilization of community resources. Various counselling & therapy sessions can also be provided when necessary.
Goal Setting & Regular Meetings:
Activities, goals and objectives are put into place on a weekly or monthly basis. Separate weekly meetings with staff are also arranged so that the service user may voice any concerns or requests.
Communication Barriers & Memory Loss:
Two common symptoms of Early-onset Dementia are the loss of communication skills and loss of short term memory. We offer the client regular guidance, support and prompts, along with various tested communicative techniques to help combat these symptoms.
Community Access & Support:
Accessing community resources, making and attending appointments, help with seeking employment, housing and any other community programs.
