Special Educational Needs
Stepping Out provides quality learning options to young people and adults with Special Educational Needs
We support and provide vocational learning and life and Functional skills training for young people and adults in order to empower independence so that they are able to live as freely as possible within their community as independently as possible.
We provide person centred learning to young people and adults aged 16 - 25 who have difficulties in engaging within mainstream educational institutions who have or display one or more of the conditions as below:
Challenging Behaviours - Excluded from School - Autistic Spectrum Disorder
Asperger’s Syndrome - Learning Disability - Mental Health Issues
Sexually Harmful - Sexualised Behaviour - offenders
And for those that missed out on going to School during their youth.
Functional Skills | Literacy and Numeracy | Life Skills | Artwork and Handicrafts | Staying Safe and Being Healthy
Through a creative approach and delivery of the above tasks we will assess each learner’s ability in order to successfully complete an entry level course with a nationally recognised certificate at the end.
The service user can attain this by actively engaging in regular lessons in order to develop their literacy skills. We are able to deliver to mixed ability groups at the same time and by working with small groups of learners each learner will benefit a greater level of attention from the tutor/educator than they would in the traditional learning environment.
