Multi-Agency Public Protection Arrangement?

If you’re looking to place a service user under a Multi-Agency Public Protection Arrangement (MAPPA), then look no further than Stepping Out. We possess vast experience when it comes to managing high level MAPPA cases, and service users displaying sexually harmful, or sexualised behaviours.

MAPPA stands for: Multi-Agency Public Protection Arrangements. There are different categories and levels of MAPPA classification, all of which can be comfortably managed by Stepping Out:

MAPPA Categories:

  • Category 1: Registered Sex Offenders (RSOs),
  • Category 2: All offenders who have received a custodial sentence of 12 months or more in prison for a sexual and/or violent offence. Also held under probation supervision.
  • Category 3: Anyone else who poses a, “risk of serious harm to the public” and who has received a conviction and whose risk would be better managed in a multi-agency setting.

MAPPA Levels:

  • Level 1: Represents the normal inter-agency management of the offender in the community by one agency, with some liaison.
  • Level 2: Means that the Multi Agency Public Protection meetings (MAPPs) will be held where the offender’s management will be discussed between various parties involved in their case.
  • Level 3: Essentially the same as Level Two, except that senior management representatives will attend the MAPPs and greater resources are expected to be used in the management of the offender.

Stepping Out have the relevant experience and resources in order to safely accommodate and support a client within small, homely, gender specific semi-independent living provisions.
