Why Stepping Out are the right choice for Semi Independent Living

Semi Independent Living providers often struggle to manage clients displaying severe challenging behaviour. Placements typically breakdown within 3-4 months, and the issues causing the incidents are perpetuated. Stepping Out do things differently.

Stepping Out have a proud tradition of deterring incidents before they even happen. This is down to years of experience, regular staff training and expert input from management. Our 24-hour support staff possess the qualifications & experience to recognise triggers and prevent incidents.

We specialise in managing challenging service users, and our services are built around how to tackle the issues leading to the incidents, such as alcohol/drug abuse, mental health issues, family breakdowns, etc. Whatever the root cause, Stepping Out are prepared to help the service user overcome.

Stepping Out understand that for most young people leaving care, the transition to full independence can be difficult to say the least. We help bridge that gap by working with the young person to build on their strengths and abilities. Where necessary we provide specific move on placements.

The semi independent living provisions are ideal for those whom display challenging behaviour, Sexually Harmful Behaviour, Drug & alcohol abuse, sexualised behaviour, MAPPA cases, self-harm, suicidal tendencies, learning disabilities, Autism and other high support need conditions. Our projects are usually gender and age specifc, each project specialises with accommodating and supporting different client groups. We ensure our placements are safe and have a high probability of producing positive outcomes.
